Description:
The Peyote (Lophophora Williamsii) is a cactus with a rich history and psychoactive properties. The Peyote owes these properties to the substance Mescaline (3,4,5-trimethoxyfenethylamine). This substance is also found in other cacti, such as the San Pedro.
Originally, the Peyote grows in northern Mexico and the southern United States. Here, the plant has been used for centuries during religious rituals. This spherical cactus has no spines and is further characterized by a small pink flower that appears during the flowering period. The Peyote grows slowly and is large enough for human consumption after 8 to 15 years.
Use:
• Use mescaline-containing cacti only in a safe and trusted environment
• Always ensure a trip sitter is present when using the cacti! • The active substances in the cacti work best on an empty stomach.
• Nausea may occur when using the cacti.
• The cacti can also be consumed in the form of tea.

Usage:
The cacti can be used in several ways. Usually, they are cut into slices and can be consumed both dried and fresh. The slices are 3–4.5 centimeters wide, and it is customary to cut them 0.5 centimeters thick. It is also possible to make tea from the cacti. The taste is usually perceived as extremely nasty and bitter.
Mechanism of action:
Mescaline is a hallucinogenic substance. This psychedelic alters perceptions, among other things. For instance, it causes things to look, feel, and hear differently than they actually are. Mescaline begins to take effect about 30-60 minutes after ingestion. The first 60-90 minutes can already be experienced as unpleasant. There is also a significant chance that you will need to vomit. You just have to get through this! What follows is a very impressive trip that lasts a long time. During this, colors may be more intense and objects may come to life. The entirety of existence will be viewed and experienced through a unique filter. The peak of the trip lasts approximately 4-6 hours. After 8 and 15 hours, you will be reasonably sober. Quite an experience!
Warning:
The Peyote cactus contains Mescaline, a psychoactive substance. The consciousness-altering properties of this substance can induce intense hallucinations. These effects should not be underestimated; therefore, always handle Peyote with care. Ensure that you are mentally well prepared and keep the cactus out of the reach of children at all times. Although a trip can be very enjoyable and educational, the use of Peyote (just like LSD or magic mushrooms) is not without risks. These risks occur primarily when you are in poor mental or physical condition. Careless use, such as an overdose or an unsuitable environment, can also lead to an unpleasant experience. For example, you may become anxious, agitated, or confused. An excessive dose can also cause the distinction between the trip and reality to blur. People with a predisposition to psychosis, or who are mentally unstable, depressed, or anxious, should not use hallucinogenic drugs. The drug can amplify moods enormously, including negative moods.
